Sarah and Tom: July 19, 2008

After a few week break, I had an amazing wedding this past Saturday! Sarah and I went to high school together and she contacted me last year about photographing her wedding to Tom. When I heard that it was going to be on an island off of the coast of Portland and that I had to take a ferry there, I was hooked! I couldn’t wait for the day–and it certainly didn’t disappoint! I had so many images to choose from!

The wedding took place on Diamond Cove, which is on Great Diamond Island. Sarah and Tom rent a house on another nearby island, Peaks, so this area is really special to them. You can get to Diamond Cove either by ferry from Portland or by water taxi. The ceremony was held in the art gallery and the reception was in a tent catered by the restaurant.

It was a little “dusty” in the room after the ceremony (or was it allergies?)!

This was right before it, well, poured. To say I got a little wet would be an understatement (my umbrella went to saving the bride!)! Everyone, though, was still in great spirits! The three flower girls were adorable!

They rented a private ferry to get their guests back to Portland after the reception (or to continue to celebrate around the harbor). Sarah fiddles and her group played beautiful Irish music on the trip. It was awesome and so unique!
