Michael & Alia (September 3, 2006)

I began my coverage of Michael and Alia’s wedding at a gorgeous Catholic church in North Andover. Since it was, well pouring outside, Alia brought her dress to the church and finished getting ready there. I was psyched to have the chance to capture some of these “getting ready” moments, as Alia had this beautiful dress with a corset backing that I love to photograph getting laced up:

After they were pronounced “husband and wife”, I captured this image of Michael and Alia before they headed down the aisle. This is one of my favorite times to capture an image, as it is literally the first moment of the new marriage (I just love how they are looking at each other!).

After the ceremony we headed to the Andover Country Club. It was still raining when we got there, so we did all of the family and wedding party formals inside. But then….the rain stopped (at least for just a little bit) just as we were about to start bride-and-groom pictures! Yay! Alia and Michael were great sports and we headed outside. I am so glad we did, as the lighting was just beautiful (I love overcast skies).

We then when back inside for introductions and their first dance, which was accidently very short; here is there reaction to having to dance in front of everyone:

I couldn’t talk about this wedding without commenting on the flower girl and ring bearer, who both tore up the dance floor for a good portion of the night! Here is a picture of Alia with the flower girl:

More pictures will be coming, including their slideshow, at the end of next week. Wedding season “Part Fall” is in full swing!

Amanda & Ian’s Engagement Pictures

Amanda and I met when we were just wee little ones starting kindergarten. However, we lost touch over the past few years but due to a series of events, we are back in touch! I am so honored to have been asked to shoot their wedding next July and also to shoot their engagement pictures. We went to Nashoba Valley Winery in Bolton, MA which was the place both of their first date and their engagement. It is this beautiful location (with apparently a great restaurant!) with both vineyards and orchards and the perfect place for their pictures (I love going to places that have meaning for a couple. Here are some of my favorites:

Kristen & Clint’s Engagment Pictures

A week and a half ago I had the pleasure of taking engagement pictures for Kristen and Clint. We decided to go to the Commander’s Mansion in Watertown as we needed to go to a place near them as daylight was at a premium. We roamed the grounds and had a great time. I had met Kristen before, but this was my first time meeting Clint. I love doing engagement pictures for this very reason–I am able to get to know the couple a little better before their wedding day. Here are some of my favorites:

I can’t wait for their wedding next summer! A slideshow of their engagement shoot can be found at: www.laurabeals.com/photos/Kristen&Clint
