Nancy & Tom (July 22, 2006)

Nancy and Tom met while at Harvard, so it was fitting that both their ceremony and reception took place there! First, both Tom and Nancy got ready at the Harvard Club, which has so much “old-school” charm (in seperate rooms, of course!). While one of the bridesmaids was getting her makeup done, I snuck to Tom’s room. I caught this picture of Tom and his sister, Meredith–his “best lady”! I have to say, these two are some of the closest siblings I have ever met.

I then went back to Nancy while she was “becoming a bride.” About halfway through makeup, her almost mother-in-law came in to see Nancy:

We then moved to the Memorial Church on Harvard’s campus. It has these beautiful huge windows on the left and the right and the pews are really tall (again, probably from back-in-the-day!). It was a little hot inside, but luckily, Tom’s mother made these beautiful fan programs. This is a picture of Tom seeing Nancy for the first time coming down the aisle, followed by an image of Tom’s mother watching her son:

Carla & Jeremy (July 15, 2006)

I started out the day bright and early (7am!) at the Crowne Plaza in Warwick, RI (can you believe I hit traffic coming out of Boston at 5:45am on a Saturday?!). Carla, her bridesmaids, and her godmother were all getting ready in one large room (I am not sure there were any mirrors or plugs left!). I love this picture of Carla getting ready, as it reminds me of a celebrity-esque picture, with so many people working on her at once:

I left Carla to head to South Ferry Church in Narragansett. It is this small chapel with lots of charm:

When the first people got there (including myself), we couldn’t get the front door to open. We thought it was locked, so when we still couldn’t open it ten minutes before the ceremony was supposed to start, a group of guys hoisted a brave soul through the open window:

Turns out, it wasn’t locked after all, just jammed shut because of the heat! All it took was a litlte pulling on the inside to get the door to open! Yay! The ceremony was one of the most beautiful that I have been to–the officiant really personalized the service and from the emotions on Carla and Jeremy’s face, you could tell how much the ceremony meant to them:

After the ceremony, we went to the Coast Guard House for the afternoon reception. The weather was just pefect and I was able to capture lots of great images of Carla and Jeremy near the water:

(By the way, did I mention that Carla had awesome BLUE shoes?!)

After “formals” followed dinner and lots of dancing. A slideshow of images from their wedding can be found at: www.laurabeals.com/photos/Carla&Jeremy .
