A reoccurring theme on my blog is that I love, love, love photographing children and families, with newborns being one of my favorite subjects. They are so tiny, but I also love being able to capture a new family enjoying time with together, as usually one parent is behind the camera! At the end of last year, I had the chance to photograph Annabel when she was four weeks old. Isn’t she lovely?

Family Portrait Session in KY

Back in November my husband and I visited some good friends of ours who live in Kentucky. We don’t get to see them that much, especially now that they have two little ones. They asked if I would consider doing a family portrait session while I was there and of course I jumped at the chance! I love family portrait sessions, and this one was made even sweeter knowing it was for friends. One of the main reasons I love doing family sessions is because I usually try to document the “kids being kids” and the “family being a family.” I don’t have the kids pose (usually)–I just try to follow them around while they are playing and doing what they love. Also, since usually one parent is behind the camera, and hence so rare to have a chance for both parents to be in the images, I usually have my families do something they love to do together–in this case it was playing outside!

I love this next series of images…she was laughing one of her toys which apparently she thought was hilarious! Toddlers just crack me up.

Kathy & Eric: November 6, 2009

Last month I photographed the wedding of two friends of mine, Kathy and Eric. It was a beautiful fall day in New England and everyone was just bursting with happiness. The ceremony was held at Abbey Church at Saint Anselm College, where Kathy went to school, and the reception was held at the Bedford Village Inn. Here are just a few of my favorites images from the day. Congratulations, Kathy and Eric! I am so happy for you both!

The stems of the flowers were wrapped in willow bark! So unique!

The next two pictures are from the wedding party entrances–some of the most creative I have seen! Each couple had their own clip of music to walk into by!

This picture is the first of a series of probably one of my all-time favorite reception memories. Kathy’s grandmother came into the center of the circle and danced to “Single Ladies/Put a Ring on It.” I was laughing so hard I could barely hold my camera straight! It was awesome and a wonderful moment! : )

A few weeks ago I photographed Nicole and Jon’s wedding, which was held at the Royal Sonesta Hotel in Cambridge. It was a beautiful day, though a bit chilly! Luckily, everyone was in good spirits and was willing to go outside to take advantage of the Boston skyline. Here are some of my favorites from their wedding!

Last weekend I photographed the wedding of Alayna and Andy. The church was the Albanian Orthodox Church of the Annunciation in Natick, MA and the reception was at the Hyatt in downtown Boston. It was a beautiful fall day and perfect for photos in Boston Gardens! One of my favorite parts of their wedding was all of the sweet looks that they gave each other throughout the day. Congratulations, Alayna and Andy! Have a wonderful honeymoon in Hawaii!

Last week I photographed Sterling, who is 18 months old. We had so much fun walking around her neighborhood–she was determined to say “hi” and “bye” to everyone who was in her path! I love photographing children just being children and spending time with their families–it brings me so much joy!
